This Changes Everything || Achele

lady-diagron:

Dianna couldn’t help but let out a weak laugh when Lea swore. That girl was as sweet as could be, but she also had the mouth of a sailor, especially when she was worked up. It was always something that amused Dianna, one of the quirks she adored about her best friend. She listened when Lea said everyone had been going on edge, frowning lightly. She hated when people got upset. Especially over her.

“I-I’m fine,” she assured quietly, chewing on her bottom lip. She didn’t want Lea to worry anymore, so she was just swerving around the truth a little. She was in a lot of pain in general, so it wasn’t like she could exactly pinpoint it anyways. “They said I broke my nose again. I just got it fixed two years ago, and look at me,” she laughed feebly, shaking her head. “I think I’m just meant to have crappy sinuses…”

Lea tried her best not to look at the condition that she was in because it was truly heartbreaking seeing her best friend in such a pitiful state. “Well you’re still the beautiful Dianna.” She said softly not really knowing what to say at the moment. She glanced over at Cory and then back at at Dianna, swallowing thickly to keep her tears at bay. “I’m just glad you’re okay.” Her voice cracked at the last split second and she shook her head, hating how weak she was.

“I have some good news though, Charlie and Ben are getting along wonderfully she just misses her mama.” It was times like these where Lea wished she knew what to say. Seeing people she loved and cared about in a hospital bed was never easy for her and she becomes uncomfortable and awkward because she doesn’t know what to do in these types of situations.

This Changes Everything || Achele

lady-diagron:

To help Dianna’s injuries heal without disturbing, she was kept under a medically induced coma for the next few days until the weekend was over, just to give her body time to catch up with itself and work on the internal damages that had been stabilized with surgery. It wasn’t until the third day after the accident that Dianna started to show true signs of life, and it took hours before she finally woke up, but when she did, she was incredibly warmed to see how much love and support went just beyond the doors of her hospital room.

She had been visiting people in twenty minute spells, the only constants in the room being her parents, Jason, and Cory. Whoever was in the waiting room was keeping Charlie, and she understood that, considering the baby definitely did not need to see her mom in such bad shape. She was going to fight to get better though. Pain was only temporary, right? When Lea came in, Dianna couldn’t help but let the corners of her mouth turn upwards into a feeble smile, reaching out the hand that Cory didn’t have a death grip on for her. “Hey there, Lee,” she mumbled out in a soft, hoarse tone.

Lea didn’t know how long she was sitting there, silently crying for some sort of sign from Dianna until she heard a very faint and fragile voice break her out of her sadness for a moment. “Di,” she rasped out her voice tired from her endless crying that has been going on for days. “Don’t you ever fucking do that to us ever again,” she said half seriously giving her hand a squeeze. “Ever.” Finally she was somewhat awake and even if she still didn’t look that great, the important thing is that she was responding to her and that was more progress than she has seen in the past couple of days. “How are you feeling?” She asked softly moving some stray hair out of her face.

“We’re all lost our minds since you’ve been here so everyone is just a little on edge. Fair warning.” It seemed since her accident nobody has really gone home and its made everyone just a little on edge with each other. She looked over at Cory and gave him a weak smile then turned her attention back to Dianna. “How…how are you feeling? Like, what hurts the most?” She felt like an idiot for asking her these questions but she didn’t really know what else to say that didn’t sound heartbreaking or sad.

I don’t even understand what the doctors are saying anymore.

mark-the-saw:

I’m good babe, I think you need some sleep. Maybe holding him will calm you down some. Here, I’ll make you a deal. You hold Ben and let me hold you and we can all get some sleep. Jason or Cory will wake us up if anything happens.

Maybe, I don’t know. I don’t think anything is going to help until we know for sure. That sounds good though, I am kind of tired and I know that Ben needs a nap.
